San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office Launches Community Chaplain Service
Stockton, CA – The San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office is proud to introduce a new Chaplain Service focused on supporting community members and families affected by traumatic incidents related to its operations.
Community Support Initiatives
- Crisis Response: Chaplains will be on hand to mitigate stress reactions among community members during incidents where SJCDA is involved.
- Support Networks: The service will assist affected families by providing referrals to local support networks.
- Liaison Role: Chaplains will act as liaisons with other agencies during disasters to streamline aid and support.
- Ecumenical Services: Assistance will be offered for community-wide ecumenical services associated with major incidents handled by SJCDA.
This program is designed to complement existing community resources.
District Attorney Ron Freitas said of the new program, “We recognize the profound impact traumatic events have on our community. This pastoral care initiative is our commitment to providing a robust array of resources, that are compassionate, supportive, and that foster resilience where it is needed most. “
