Ricardo Basilio Sentenced to 11 Years to Life for Kidnapping to Commit Rape and Firearm Enhancement
San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas announced that Ricardo Basilio was sentenced to 11 years to Life in state prison for Kidnap to commit Rape 209 (B)(1), and use of a firearm during a sex offense 12022.3 (A) in Judge Villapudua’s courtroom. The sentence follows Basilio’s guilty plea on February 5, 2025.
On October 7, 2023, Basilio followed the victim on foot when she left a party at his house late at night. Basilio waited until the victim was in a secluded area on the road, when he jumped out of the vineyard with a firearm and then dragged her about 25 feet off the road into the vineyard. Once there, Basilio, while holding the Victim at gunpoint, proceeded to rape the victim and he recorded the incident on his cell phone.
District Attorney Ron Freitas stated, “Today’s sentencing stands as a testament to the courage of the victim and our unwavering pursuit of justice. I want to commend our prosecution team, and our law enforcement partners for their outstanding work. Their dedication, collaboration, and professionalism are a credit to this office and to the people we serve.”
Special thanks to Deputy District Attorney Victor Bachand for his dedicated prosecution, as well as the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office for their thorough investigative work.
