Sammy Nunez Sentenced to 23 Years in State Prison for Sexual Abuse of Two Young Victims
On June 9, 2025, Sammy Nunez was sentenced to 23 years in state prison following his conviction for felony sex offenses involving two children. He is also required to register as a lifetime sex offender.
On June 14, 2023, Nunez was found guilty of two felony charges: Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child PC 288.5(A) and Penetration by a Foreign Object While the Victim Was Under the Influence of Drugs PC 289(E). He was also found to have a prior strike conviction from a shooting and faced maximum exposure of 41 years in state prison.
“The defendant has committed a lifetime of harm in our community, using his position of trust and authority to enable his criminal acts.” Said District Attorney Ron Freitas. “While we pushed for a sentence of over 40 years, the judge in this case unfortunately disagreed. The defendant will still serve a total of 23 years for his heinous acts, and we are proud of Deputy District Attorney Theresa Stroud and the Manteca Police Department for their hard work in achieving justice for the victims.”
