Jury Finds Gerardo Juarez Guilty of Multiple Felony Sex Crimes Against Two Children

On July 31, 2025, in Department 9B of the San Joaquin County Superior Court, a jury found Gerardo Juarez guilty of multiple felony charges related to the sexual abuse of two minors. The verdict followed a lengthy trial prosecuted by the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office.

The jury returned the following verdicts:

1. Guilty – Penal Code §288(a): Lewd and Lascivious Acts Upon a Child Under 14
2. Guilty – Penal Code §288(a): Lewd and Lascivious Acts Upon a Child Under 14
3. Guilty – Penal Code §240: Assault (Misdemeanor)
4. Guilty – Penal Code §288(b)(1): Forcible Lewd Act Upon a Child
5. Guilty – Penal Code §289(a)(1)(B): Forcible Sexual Penetration
    Enhancement Found True: Victim Under 14
6. Guilty – Penal Code §288(b)(1): Forcible Lewd Act Upon a Child
7. Guilty – Penal Code §288(b)(1): Forcible Lewd Act Upon a Child
8. Hung Jury – Count dismissed by the People in the Interest of Justice
9. Guilty – Penal Code §289(a)(1)(B): Forcible Sexual Penetration
    Enhancement Found True: Victim Under 14
10. Guilty – Penal Code §289(a)(1)(B): Forcible Sexual Penetration
     Enhancement Found True: Victim Under 14
     Enhancement Found True: Infliction of Bodily Harm

Based on these convictions, Juarez faces a maximum possible sentence of 95 years to life in state prison, including a mandatory 25 years to life for the bodily harm enhancement under Count 10.
The case is scheduled to return on October 6, 2025, for a hearing on aggravating factors, which could increase the severity of the sentence, followed by formal sentencing.
