Manvir Singh Held to Answer on All Counts Following Preliminary Hearing in Fatal Highway 99 Collision Case

Defendant Manvir Singh was held to answer on all counts following a preliminary hearing on June 10, 2026, in connection with a fatal multi-vehicle collision that occurred on May 19, 2026, on northbound Highway 99 near Harney Lane in Lodi.

At the conclusion of the hearing, the Honorable Judge Hoyt found sufficient evidence to hold Singh to answer on all charges and ordered the case to proceed. Judge Hoyt also modified Singh’s bail status from $400,000 bail to no bail.

Singh is charged with:

Count 1: Vehicular Manslaughter with Gross Negligence (PC 192(c)(1))

   Enhancement: Fleeing the Scene of a Crime (VC 20001(c))

Count 2: Vehicular Manslaughter with Gross Negligence (PC 192(c)(1))

   Enhancement: Fleeing the Scene of a Crime (VC 20001(c))

Count 3: Reckless Driving Causing Specified Injury (VC 23105(a))

   Enhancements: Three allegations of Infliction of Great Bodily Injury (PC 12022.7(a))

Count 4: Hit and Run Resulting in Permanent Injury or Death (VC 20001(b)(2))

“This case involves allegations of reckless conduct that resulted in the loss of life and serious injuries to others on one of our county’s busiest roadways,” said District Attorney Ron Freitas. “We are grateful for the court’s careful consideration of the evidence presented at the preliminary hearing. The case is scheduled to return to court on June 23, 2026, at 8:30 AM in 8B.
