Joaquin Cruz Sentenced to Three Consecutive Life Terms Without Parole Plus 75 Years to Life for 2019 Stockton Triple Murder

Joaquin Cruz was sentenced to three consecutive terms of life without the possibility of parole, plus 75 years to life, following his November 2025 conviction for the 2019 gang-related murders of David Connary, Tiffany Connary, and Remilio Castillo in Stockton.

"Justice was fully delivered", said District Attorney Ron Freitas. "Three consecutive life terms without parole means he will spend the rest of his life behind bars, with zero chance of ever stepping foot in our community again. While this finality cannot erase the profound pain of losing David, Tiffany, and Remilio to this senseless shooting, my administration’s track record makes one thing undeniably clear: if you bring gang violence into San Joaquin County and take innocent lives, we will pursue you with everything we have and ensure you are taken off our streets permanently."

The District Attorney's Office expresses its gratitude to the Stockton Police Department, the prosecution team, their case preparation staff, Victim Witness Advocates, and the Crime Analyst Unit for their dedicated work on this case.
