CHIEF DEPUTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

Chief Deputy District Attorney Kristine Reed was appointed to her current position in January 2023, supervising the Mainline Division which includes the prosecution of felony and misdemeanor crimes, as well as the Circuit Offices located in Manteca and Lodi. 

Ms. Reed began as a volunteer intern with the District Attorney’s Office in August 1993. After graduating from law school, she worked in several different divisions within the Office, involving the prosecution of misdemeanors, felonies, juvenile crimes, elder abuse, domestic violence, child abuse and death, and sexual assault of minors and adults. She was previously the Supervising Deputy District Attorney for the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault unit from 2007-2018, as well as holding other administrative roles over the years.  She also oversees the Office’s internship program and the Project Navigate Constructive Change grant program.

Ms. Reed is a graduate of UC Davis and earned her law degree from Lincoln Law School in Sacramento. She supports a victim-centered approach for all of the cases prosecuted within the Mainline Division, with case resolutions consistent with the protection of the community and public safety.
