Hill’s apprehension underscores the critical role that timely reports play in deterring crime and ensuring justice.

District Attorney Ron Freitas stated, “This is a great example of what can be accomplished when the public and private sectors join forces in this fight. I’ve said it before and will continue to say, Paying in San Joaquin County is not optional.”

Launch of STAART: Stockton Takes Action Against Retail Theft

In an ongoing effort to combat retail theft, the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office has partnered with the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce to launch STAART—Stockton Takes Action Against Retail Theft. This initiative empowers community members to take part in the fight against theft by utilizing the new "Fast STAART" app, available for iPhone and Android devices. The app allows users to quickly report incidents, including the ability to upload photos and videos that aid in future prosecutions.

"The community is watching, and together we can send a strong message that retail theft will not be tolerated in Stockton," said Freitas.

For more information, please contact the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office or download the Fast STAART app to become part of the solution.
