San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office Announces Sentencing in Stockton Homicide Case
Stockton, CA - San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas announced that 32-year-old Alejandro Olivares of Stockton has been sentenced to 21 years in state prison following his plea of guilty to voluntary manslaughter with the use of a firearm. Judge Allen Jose conducted the sentencing.
The incident occurred on September 6, 2021, when Olivares entered a yard on Flower Street where he had been working. At approximately 1:35 PM, after a dispute, Olivares shot and killed Jose "Antonio" Gonzalez before fleeing the scene.
District Attorney Ron Freitas stated, "This sentence is justice served. I'm deeply grateful to DDA Lyberger and her team for their fierce dedication. They've stood up for what's right, ensuring that our streets are safer and that justice has a strong voice in San Joaquin County."
The District Attorney's office thanks DDA Lyberger’s prosecution team and support staff, Detective Jocelyn Smith of the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department for her investigative efforts, and the District Attorney investigators for their support during this case.
