The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office proudly marks the 25th anniversary of its Youth Leadership Academy (YLA), a transformative program empowering high school students to become thoughtful, ethical, and service-oriented leaders. Open to all high school students in San Joaquin County, the YLA offers hands-on learning in leadership development, criminal law, social issues, and career exploration.
This milestone year, the YLA will run from June 9 to June 27, 2025, with classes held daily from 8:15 AM to noon at 222 E. Weber Avenue, Stockton. The program, operated in collaboration with the Superior Court, Public Defender’s Office, and San Joaquin County Bar Association, welcomes up to 50 students from diverse backgrounds across the county.
“We are thrilled to celebrate 25 years of inspiring San Joaquin County’s youth to lead with integrity and purpose,” said District Attorney Ron Freitas. “The Youth Leadership Academy equips students with the tools to make a lasting, positive impact on our community, and I’m excited to see this year’s class grow into our next generation of leaders.”
