Jury Finds Gerardo Juarez Guilty of Multiple Felony Sex Crimes Against Two Children

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On July 31, 2025, in Department 9B of the San Joaquin County Superior Court, a jury found Gerardo Juarez guilty of multiple felony charges related to the sexual abuse of two minors. The verdict followed a lengthy trial prosecuted by the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office.

The jury returned the following verdicts:

1. Guilty – Penal Code §288(a): Lewd and Lascivious Acts Upon a Child Under 14
2. Guilty – Penal Code §288(a): Lewd and Lascivious Acts Upon a Child Under 14
3. Guilty – Penal Code §240: Assault (Misdemeanor)
4. Guilty – Penal Code §288(b)(1): Forcible Lewd Act Upon a Child
5. Guilty – Penal Code §289(a)(1)(B): Forcible Sexual Penetration
    Enhancement Found True: Victim Under 14
6. Guilty – Penal Code §288(b)(1): Forcible Lewd Act Upon a Child
7. Guilty – Penal Code §288(b)(1): Forcible Lewd Act Upon a Child
8. Hung Jury – Count dismissed by the People in the Interest of Justice
9. Guilty – Penal Code §289(a)(1)(B): Forcible Sexual Penetration
    Enhancement Found True: Victim Under 14
10. Guilty – Penal Code §289(a)(1)(B): Forcible Sexual Penetration
     Enhancement Found True: Victim Under 14
     Enhancement Found True: Infliction of Bodily Harm

Based on these convictions, Juarez faces a maximum possible sentence of 95 years to life in state prison, including a mandatory 25 years to life for the bodily harm enhancement under Count 10.
The case is scheduled to return on October 6, 2025, for a hearing on aggravating factors, which could increase the severity of the sentence, followed by formal sentencing.

“This verdict brings justice for the survivors of these horrific crimes. I commend their bravery in coming forward and cooperating throughout this difficult case,” said San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas. “I also want to thank Deputy District Attorney Victor Bachand for his tireless work in securing this conviction, and Detective Erika Gonzalez of the Stockton Police Department for her thorough and compassionate investigation. Because of their commitment, this predator has been held accountable, and our community is safer.”
