Joshua Ramirez Pleads Guilty to Multiple Felony Charges Involving Minor Victims and Narcotics

On April 21, 2026, defendant Joshua Ramirez entered a plea to multiple felony charges, including:

  • Two counts of oral copulation of an intoxicated victim (Penal Code 287(i))
  • One count of use of a minor for obscene matter (Penal Code 311.4(b))
  • One count of oral copulation with a person under 18 years of age (Penal Code 287(b)(1))
  • Two counts of possession of child sexual abuse material (Penal Code 311.11(a)(1))
  • One count of using a minor to violate controlled substance laws involving MDMA (Health & Safety Code 11380(a))
  • One count of possession for sale of controlled substances, including fentanyl, cocaine, and MDMA (Health & Safety Code 11351)

This case involved three underage victims, a significant quantity of illegal narcotics, and substantial child sexual abuse material recovered from the defendant’s phone.

Through coordinated efforts between the District Attorney’s Office and the San Joaquin County ASALT (Anti Sex and Labor Trafficking) Task Force, the case was resolved in a manner that secured accountability while sparing the minor victims from the trauma of testifying in court.

“The exploitation of minors and the distribution of child sexual abuse material are among the most serious crimes we prosecute,” said District Attorney Ron Freitas. “This defendant preyed on vulnerable victims and engaged in conduct that will not be tolerated in our community. Cases like this send a clear message: those who exploit children will be identified, prosecuted, and held fully accountable.”

Special thanks to Deputy District Attorney Mahjoubeh Foolad for her work in successfully prosecuting this case.

Ramirez will be sentenced on June 2, 2026, and is facing 18 years in state prison. He will also be required to register as a sex offender pursuant to Penal Code § 290 for life.
